Maserati reveals facelifted Grecale... 390bhp V6 with 32% more torque
Italian car manufacturer Maserati has unveiled the facelifted version of its mid-size SUV, the Grecale. First launched in April 2022, the Grecale has been enhanced with a redesigned front end for improved aerodynamic efficiency, interior updates, and the introduction of a new engine to boost its appeal.
The new V6 turbo engine, based on the Nettuno engine technology first featured in Maserati's flagship model, the MC20, incorporates pre-chamber combustion technology to deliver 177 horsepower per litre. The top internal combustion model, the Grecale Trofeo V6, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 285 km/h.
The Grecale line-up consists of six trims: Grecale, Modena, Grecale V6, Modena V6, Trofeo V6, and Folgore, offering a range of internal combustion, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. The Grecale V6 and Modena V6 are equipped with a V6 petrol engine producing 390 horsepower, while the Trofeo V6 features a V6 petrol engine tuned to deliver 530 horsepower.
The newly introduced 390-horsepower V6 engine has been calibrated to provide abundant torque and a smooth revving character at low engine speeds. This results in a 32% power increase over the previous four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine at 2,000 rpm, enhancing driving satisfaction.
The entry-level Grecale trim is powered by a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine available with either 250 or 300 horsepower, while the Modena trim features a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine with output raised to 330 horsepower.
The fully electric Folgore model retains the same specification as the 2026 model year, maintaining a 550-horsepower powertrain based on a 400-volt architecture. To improve efficiency and cooling performance, a new air grille shutter system has been added to the front bumper.
The new front bumper design, inspired by the MC20, integrates side air curtains to enhance aerodynamic efficiency. New colour options for 20-inch and 21-inch wheels have also been introduced.
Inside, a new steering wheel with redesigned spokes has been introduced. The Trofeo trim comes standard with perforated leather or Alcantara on the grip areas. The digital clock in the centre of the dashboard now features a metal bezel for added refinement, and the previous button-type gear selector has been replaced by a capacitive haptic system. Interior trim options include high-quality materials such as wood, carbon fibre, and leather. Other features include a 12.3-inch ultra-high-definition infotainment display, a head-up display, and a Sonus faber audio system with 21 speakers delivering 1,285 watts of power.
