Chery Fulwin T7 crossover announced – it is the brother of the Russian Tenet Plus L6

On the domestic market, the new Chery SUV will be offered with an electric powertrain, whereas here its sibling will be presented with an internal combustion engine. Sales of the crossover in China are set to begin shortly.

Chery has announced an addition to its electrified Fulwin line-up with a separate emblem – very soon, buyers in China will be able to purchase the T7 SUV. This is an electric vehicle; on other markets (for example, Thailand) it will appear as the Lepas L6 EV. However, the Lepas model also has a purely petrol version, which is about to launch in Russia under the Tenet Plus brand: our crossover is also called the L6.

Externally, the China-bound Chery Fulwin T7 SUV is almost indistinguishable from the export Lepas L6 EV. If compared with the Russian petrol Tenet Plus L6, the electric cars feature a different front-end design. The electric SUVs have an original bumper, with a smooth panel instead of a large radiator grille. Furthermore, the Fulwin T7/Lepas L6 EV come with fairly standard headlights, whereas our 'traditional' crossover has two-tier headlamp units.

The Chery Fulwin T7 is 4,570 mm long, 1,852 mm wide and 1,694 mm tall. The Russian Tenet Plus L6 crossover is slightly shorter (4,554 mm) and lower (1,681 mm). The wheelbase of both vehicles is identical at 2,700 mm.

Inside our petrol crossover and the export electric car, there is a vertical multimedia system screen. In China, the Fulwin T7 has received a tablet of a more conventional format, with air vents added beneath it. Otherwise, the interior of the Chery-badged model is the same as that of the Lepas and Tenet Plus SUVs. Inside, there is a three-spoke steering wheel, a slim instrument display and a two-tier central tunnel.

According to preliminary data, Chinese customers will be offered the Chery Fulwin T7 with a single 242 hp electric motor on the front axle. The battery capacity has not yet been disclosed, although Chery has stated that the crossover will cover 600 km on a single charge (likely under the CLTC cycle).
