We have recently learned that General Motors will invest $275 million in the development of fuel-powered models. The all-new generation Cadillac XT5 is planned to be launched in the North American market in the second half of 2027. In the domestic market, the all-new Cadillac XT5 was already launched in 2024, with a price range of 379,900 to 459,900 RMB. Additionally, the all-new generation CT5 is also under development and will be produced at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

It is reported that $150 million will be used to upgrade the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, where the all-new generation XT5 is expected to be produced. Another $125 million will be allocated to the Spring Hill Global Powertrain division to upgrade the 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will be used in pickup models such as the Colorado, Silverado, Canyon, and Sierra.

For reference, the domestic all-new XT5 has undergone upgrades in both exterior and interior design, and it is expected that the overseas version will heavily draw inspiration from the domestic all-new XT5. Additionally, it is worth noting that the Cadillac XT5 PHEV version was recently filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It features a 1.5T engine combined with front and rear dual electric motors, with a maximum engine power of 115 kW, a front motor power of 160 kW, and a rear motor power of 110 kW. It is equipped with a 35.5 kWh battery, offering an all-electric range of 155 km. As for whether the plug-in hybrid version will appear in the North American market, we will continue to provide updates.
