New Hyundai Elantra N 2027

A month ago, the new generation of the Korean saloon had its premiere, and now the company is preparing a sporty version with the N badge. What will it look like?
The Elantra model was first introduced in 1990 — it replaced the rear-wheel-drive Hyundai Stellar on the production line. Today, the eighth generation of the saloon is already in production, having been unveiled at the end of last month. Since the previous generation, the Elantra has had a top-of-the-range modification with the N badge, and the new saloon will also get one.

There have been no photographs of prototypes or teasers as yet, but we can look to the styling of the company's other N models for guidance. The car depicted in the renders features the signature blue colour and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The front bumper is completely new, with a wider air intake and red detailing at the lower section. Similar detailing can be found on the sill covers, as well as on the rear bumper, beneath which sit a pair of large exhaust tailpipes. Company representatives have hinted that the top-spec Elantra will get even wider wings (possibly through the use of arch extensions, as in our renders), and a spoiler on the trailing edge of the boot lid is also all but certain.

The previous-generation Elantra N saloon is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 276 bhp (392 Nm). It is expected that the new model will receive a more powerful 2.5-litre turbo engine (likely either completely new or substantially revised), delivering around 300 bhp. For comparison, the turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine in the Sonata N Line offers 290 bhp and 422 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, at the end of last month, the standard Hyundai Ioniq 3 was unveiled.
