All in White and Worth a Million: The 'Zero' Ferrari Luce to Be Sold at Auction

The electric liftback Ferrari Luce, with chassis number 0, has received an exclusive white-themed finish. It will be sold on 15 August at the RM Sotheby's auction during Monterey Car Week (California, USA), with the proceeds going to charity.
The Ferrari Luce made its debut on 25 May — arguably the most talked-about and simultaneously the most controversial car premiere of 2026. The public reacted with hostility to the Luce's design, which is very atypical for Ferrari, developed by the Californian studio LoveFrom under the direction of Jony Ive, who created the modern style of Apple gadgets.

Dissatisfaction with the design has been compounded by a very high price: in Europe, the Luce starts at €550,000, while in the US the starting price will be around $645,000. At the same time, the Luce's technical specifications are rather unremarkable compared to the best Chinese equivalents: a four-motor powertrain delivers 772 kW (1,050 hp) and 990 Nm, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.5 seconds, top speed is 310 km/h, battery capacity is 122 kWh, and range on a single charge is 530 km under the WLTP cycle.

According to insiders, the lukewarm reception of the Luce is having a negative impact on sales. Ferrari is effectively having to bundle its first electric car as a sweetener: customers who order a Luce receive, in return, priority in the queue for the most sought-after petrol models and access to limited-edition sports cars. Nevertheless, the true market potential of the Luce will only become clear after the first full year of sales, i.e. 2027.

Meanwhile, the 'zero' example of the Ferrari Luce will be sold at the RM Sotheby's auction on 15 August. RM Sotheby's experts expect the price of the 'zero' Luce to reach $1,100,000, with the electric car being offered at auction without a reserve, meaning it will find a buyer regardless.

The 'zero' example has undergone Ferrari's Tailor Made customisation programme. The body is painted in an exclusive, semi-gloss white colour called Madreperla, developed specifically for this car, which can shift in shades from green to purple depending on the intensity and angle of the incoming light. The alloy wheels, brake callipers and Ferrari logos on the front doors are also painted white.

The interior is upholstered in Swiss metallic leather Le Mans in white Perla from the Ferrari Tailor Made collection. This leather diffuses light within the cabin, enhancing the sense of space. The steering wheel rim and the top of the dashboard are upholstered in grey leather Grigio Corvara instead of the standard black. A commemorative plaque will remind the owner of this car's uniqueness.

The proceeds from the sale of the 'zero' Ferrari Luce will go towards funding The Ferrari Foundation, a charitable trust that supports various educational projects and institutions, as well as helping people living with paralysis.
