Inje Speedium concludes Round 3 of the ‘2026 Inje Bike Masters’
Inje Speedium (CEO Lee Jung-min), a motorsport complex and cultural space located in Inje, Gangwon Province, announced that it successfully concluded the third round of the '2026 Inje Bike Masters' on the 14th.
This event featured the second round of MotoPista and the third round of the YAMAHA YZF-R3 CUP, with the introduction of a new class for beginner riders, the 'R3 Academy Cup', demonstrating the potential for expanding the base of domestic two-wheeled motorsport.
The Inje Bike Masters operates as a comprehensive two-wheeled motorsport event combining racing, experiences, and educational programmes. This third round also saw participation from professional riders, enthusiasts, and spectators, maintaining the competitive fervour of the mid-season.
Notably, this event attracted attention with the first-ever operation of the 'R3 Academy Cup', a new class within the YAMAHA YZF-R3 CUP. The Academy Cup is a developmental programme designed to allow circuit beginners and enthusiasts to experience racing more safely and systematically, centred around riders from the GBHAN RIDING SCHOOL based in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. A total of 28 riders participated in this YAMAHA YZF-R3 CUP, adding significance to the nurturing of newcomers and the expansion of the event's base.
Inje Speedium and MotoQuad plan to expand participation opportunities through collaboration with various riding academies in the future, creating a two-wheeled motorsport environment where riders can grow step by step, from beginners to seasoned experts.
On the morning of the day, qualifying sessions for each class proceeded smoothly under clear weather. In the MotoPista qualifying, Do Jae-min set the fastest time in the PISTA1000 class, and Seo Young-hwa led in the PISTA600 class. In the YAMAHA YZF-R3 CUP qualifying, Kouichi Tange topped the SS class, Kim Dong-jin led the ST class, and in the newly established R3 Academy Cup, Yoon Hyo-sang recorded the fastest time, raising expectations for the finals.
The finals saw fierce competition across all classes. In the MotoPista PISTA1000 class, Kim Kyung-ho (BMR) claimed victory, followed by Yoon Hyun-soo and Park Sung-hoon on the podium. In the PISTA600 class, Jo Myung-yeon crossed the finish line first to take the win, with Seo Young-hwa and Park Dong-min finishing second and third respectively. The narrow gaps among the top contenders ensured a tense race right until the end.
In the newly established YAMAHA YZF-R3 Academy Cup, Yoon Hyo-sang was crowned the inaugural winner. Lee Young took second place, and Jang Eun-ho finished third, marking the first podium for the class. Beyond mere ranking competition, the Academy Cup served as a platform for circuit beginners to experience real racing environments and grow.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon when the finals were held, sudden rain fell, causing rapidly changing track conditions. The YAMAHA YZF-R3 CUP final was particularly affected by the weather change. The race, originally scheduled for 10 laps, was interrupted by a red flag after 9 laps, and the final results were confirmed based on 8 laps.
In the YAMAHA YZF-R3 CUP SS class, held under changing track conditions, Kouichi Tange secured victory, with Jeong Ho-jin and Yeo Jong-gwan taking second and third places respectively. In the ST class, Kim Ik-hyun topped the class. Despite the sudden weather change, the riders maintained their focus and delivered a high-quality race.
This third round of the Inje Bike Masters presented a new direction with thrilling races in existing competitive classes and the nurturing of newcomers through the establishment of the Academy Cup. The Inje Bike Masters, establishing itself as a comprehensive two-wheeled cultural event combining racing, experiences, and educational programmes, plans to continue developing into a platform where diverse riders can participate and grow together.
Meanwhile, the next event on the Inje Bike Masters calendar is the 'Sky-Fallen Inje Endurance Race' scheduled for 23 August. Inje Speedium plans to lead the expansion of the domestic two-wheeled motorsport base and the establishment of a healthy riding culture through the continuous expansion of its programmes.
