Hyundai Motor Group holds 3rd ‘i-CARE UP’ event
Hyundai Motor Group has announced that it held the 'i-CARE UP' event for child protection professionals from across the country at the Seoul Olympic Parktel from Monday 8 June to Wednesday 10 June, spanning three days and two nights.
Now in its third year, the 'i-CARE UP' event was designed to support the psychological recovery and professional development of child protection workers who interact directly with abused children and perpetrators.
For this event, Hyundai Motor Group invited 100 counsellors and therapists from 57 child protection agencies nationwide, offering healing programmes to reduce work fatigue and promote rejuvenation, including ▲theatre performances and visits to notable sites ▲tailored stress management ▲and making plant terrariums.
In addition, opportunities were provided for workers to enhance their expertise and job capabilities, such as ▲special lectures on improving counselling techniques ▲and tailored legal training for the field.
In particular, on the first day of the event, a special lecture was given by Dr Oh Eun-young, a psychiatrist, who taught about managing abused children and counselling techniques. A Q&A session based on real cases experienced by the workers was also held, which received high satisfaction ratings.
On the final day, Kim Young-mi, a lawyer specialising in domestic cases including child abuse, delivered a lecture on legal knowledge needed in the field, covering legal terminology, reporting procedures, roles at each stage of case processing, and legal responsibilities.
Hyundai Motor Group, which has been running the 'i-CARE' project since 2014, is focusing on building a comprehensive support system for protecting abused children. This includes the 'i-CARE Car' initiative, which provides vehicles for the immediate removal of children from harmful situations and for psychological counselling, and the 'i-CARE Home' project, which supports the remodelling of shelters where children stay.
