Kia XCeed second facelift revealed: sold in Europe but not in domestic market
Kia's European strategic model, the second facelift of the XCeed, has been unveiled. Since the first model was launched in 2019, the XCeed underwent its first facelift in 2022, and now features a new design, an upgraded infotainment system, enhanced driver assistance features, and improved refinement for greater comfort.
Kia has applied its design philosophy, 'Opposites United' (the creative fusion of contrasting concepts), to the XCeed. Numerous elements have been changed to such an extent that it could be mistaken for a next-generation model. The bonnet, radiator, grille, front bumper, headlamp units, and side fenders have all been redesigned. Depending on the specification, wheels are available in sizes from 16 to 18 inches. The rear lamps and bumper have also been updated, resulting in a progressive and modern exterior.
In addition, the front overhang has been reduced by 15mm to improve the car's proportions and emphasise its agility. Despite this, the boot capacity remains at 426 litres, matching the previous model. The exterior colour palette comprises nine options, including the signature shade Morning Haze, as well as Casa White, Deluxe White, Luna Silver, Wolf Grey, Black Pearl, Blue Flame, Magma Red, and Penta Metal.
The interior has been redesigned to enhance comfort. The pads that come into contact with occupants have been re-engineered, and the infotainment system has been updated. The air vents, door handles, steering wheel, and seat covers also feature new designs. Seat materials and colours can be chosen from black fabric, a combination of fabric and artificial leather, or artificial leather in black or Misty Grey.
The new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch central touchscreen provide access to real-time vehicle diagnostics and services via Kia Connect cloud services. The vehicle can also be controlled remotely via the Kia app. Additionally, the introduction of a digital key makes it easier to share the car with multiple drivers.
Driver assistance features include Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Parking Assist, a rear-view camera monitor, an interior camera, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 (FCA 1.5).
The rear suspension has been improved to enhance ride comfort and refinement. The driving modes have also been adjusted to ensure a clearer distinction between Normal and Sport modes.
The powertrain options include a 1.0-litre T-GDI mild hybrid petrol engine producing 115 bhp and 20.39 kg·m of torque, and a 1.6-litre T-GDI mild hybrid delivering either 150 bhp with 25.49 kg·m of torque or 180 bhp with 27.02 kg·m of torque. Production takes place at the plant in Žilina, Slovakia.
