Hyundai Motor Group Holds Induction Ceremony for First Cohort of ‘HINT’ Youth Job Competency Enhancement Training Programme
Hyundai Motor Group held the joint induction ceremony for the first cohort of 'HINT (HMG Incubation of New Talent)', a job competency enhancement training programme aimed at fostering young talent, on Monday 27th at the Gyeongju campus of its Human Resources Development Centre.
'HINT' is part of the 'K-New Deal Academy', a youth vocational training initiative run by the Ministry of Employment and Labour and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in partnership with domestic companies. It has been established to help young people improve their job competencies and plan their career paths by providing opportunities to experience the future mobility industry and gain hands-on technical experience.
The detailed curriculum is operated across two tracks: ▲ 'Embedded AI (hardware and software fields)', which strengthens core technical capabilities in future mobility development, and ▲ 'Manufacturing Intelligence', which covers digital transformation and smart factory-related fields in manufacturing sites. In addition, a variety of field-oriented programmes will be offered, including tours of Hyundai Motor Group's key production plants, vehicle-based training, and special lectures from current employees.
The 500 trainees, gathered from seven regions across the country, will take part in a three-day, two-night residential programme following the induction ceremony. During this time, they will understand the purpose and educational direction of the 'HINT' programme, refine their own growth goals, and build networks with their peers to broaden their communication horizons.
Hyundai Motor Group aims to deliver more than 90% of the training courses in non-capital regions such as Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju and Busan, thereby providing professional practical training opportunities for young people in regional areas and contributing to the stable growth of local talent.
The event was attended by Sung Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Group, and Kim Young-hoon, Minister of Employment and Labour, who delivered a welcome address and congratulatory remarks respectively to encourage the trainees.
Sung Kim, President of Hyundai Motor Group, said, "The automotive industry is evolving around electric vehicles and software, and it is important to learn and grow in line with these changes. I expect that the trainees will be able to develop not only specialised knowledge in the future mobility sector but also the problem-solving skills needed in real-world settings through the 'HINT' training programme."
Hyundai Motor Group will run the first cohort of 'HINT' over the next three months and plans to recruit participants for the second cohort in September.
