South Korean electric vehicle rapid charging infrastructure operator CPO company CHAEVI (CEO Choi Young-hoon, formerly Daeyoung CHAEVI) has introduced Hyundai Motor Group's Plug & Charge (PnC) service to provide customers with a convenient and advanced charging experience.

As the cumulative number of registered electric vehicles reaches one million, competition in charging infrastructure is shifting from scale of installation to customer experience. Convenience and cost-effectiveness in the charging process, along with the overall service experience, are emerging as key factors determining EV user satisfaction. In response, CHAEVI has partnered with Hyundai Motor Group to strengthen its customer-centric charging services.

CHAEVI has applied Hyundai Motor Group's Plug & Charge (PnC) service to its charging network. PnC is an international standard technology that automatically handles vehicle authentication, charging, and payment simply by connecting the charging cable. Hyundai Motor Group EV customers who subscribe to the PnC service via E-pit can charge and pay at CHAEVI charging stations without needing a membership card or app, enabling seamless charging and payment in one go. This allows for a more convenient charging experience at CHAEVI stations.

In addition, CHAEVI is independently operating services to build a customer-focused charging environment. These include its own PnC service, 'Baro CHAEVI', which enables one-stop authentication, charging, and payment by simply plugging the connector into the vehicle after the first charge at CHAEVI's rapid chargers, as well as the 'Lightning' programme, which offers rewards for using charging and CHAEVI Stay facilities. These initiatives enhance both charging convenience and tangible benefits, contributing to the development of the EV charging ecosystem.

Meanwhile, CHAEVI operates a rapid charging network and leads the EV charging market with integrated capabilities spanning the entire process from charger manufacturing to installation, operation, and maintenance. The company plans to expand collaboration with car manufacturers and partners to create a convenient and reliable charging environment in the future.
