Korea Imported Car Association Welcomes Zeekr Korea as New Member
The Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) has announced that Zeekr Korea has joined its membership.
Zeekr is a luxury technology brand established by the Geely Holding Group on 15 April 2014. By the first half of 2025, it had delivered over 580,000 vehicles across more than 40 countries worldwide, including Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
Founded in 1995 and celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, KAIDA now counts 22 companies and 29 brands officially imported and sold in the country, including the newly joined Zeekr, as association members. KAIDA works to improve the market environment by closely collaborating with government agencies and organisations in the process of rationalising automotive-related systems and regulations, as well as policy formulation. At the same time, it provides legal advice and holds briefings on common industry issues, builds networks and cooperates with domestic and international automotive organisations, and handles various statistics, research, and translation of regulations related to imported vehicles, all in an effort to contribute to the development of the domestic automotive industry.
Zeekr, which has now joined KAIDA as a member, signed a dealer agreement with a partner company responsible for sales and service in the Korean market in December last year. In June, it officially launched the premium mid-sized electric SUV '7X' in the country, marking its full-scale entry into the Korean market. Furthermore, it plans to expand its network to 14 locations nationwide by the end of this year, starting with vehicle displays at nine major showrooms, including in Seoul.
KAIDA Vice Chairman Jeong Yoon-young said, "We sincerely welcome the joining of global luxury electrification brand Zeekr," adding, "We expect it to accelerate the transition to eco-friendly mobility and add positive synergy to the role of imported cars in leading the electrification paradigm."
He emphasised, "In response to the rapidly changing industrial environment, we will work to rationally improve policies and systems, while contributing to enhancing the overall competitiveness of the domestic automotive industry ecosystem so that consumers can experience sustainable mobility value."
