Audi’s first full-size SUV, the ‘Q9’, revealed to rival the X7 and GLS
Audi has unveiled the Audi Q9, the brand's first full-size SUV, for the first time in the world. The Audi Q9 is the flagship model at the top of Audi's SUV portfolio.
Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, said: "In the future, 'Vorsprung durch Technik' will be defined even more around the in-car experience. Cars are evolving beyond mere modes of transport into mobile living spaces for customers," adding, "The new portfolio flagship, the Audi Q9, embodies this vision. The finest materials, second-row independent electric seats and automatic doors demonstrate Audi's commitment to interior quality. Combined with the latest driver assistance systems and an integrated user experience, it clearly shows the direction the Audi brand is heading."
The Audi Q9 has been designed with generous body proportions and spacious interior accommodation in mind, catering to a wide range of lifestyles from family customers to business clients. As Audi's first-ever full-size SUV, it expands the brand's spatial and practical credentials to a new level, commanding a presence befitting the top model in the SUV line-up.
The Audi Q9 offers a spacious interior and outstanding versatility as standard in a seven-seat configuration. An optional six-seat layout provides an even more generous sense of space and a premium travel experience, with second-row independent electric seats delivering business-class levels of comfort. In addition, the design takes the third-row space into account, ensuring a comfortable journey even on long-distance drives.
Audi has applied automatic doors to the Q9 for the first time in the brand's history, significantly enhancing ease of entry and exit. The automatic doors, which operate safely by detecting the vehicle's surroundings, offer a more intuitive and comfortable user experience, delivering the kind of distinctive convenience expected of a flagship SUV.
Furthermore, the Q9 features the largest panoramic sunroof in Audi's history, providing all occupants with an exceptional sense of openness. The interior, finished with premium materials and meticulous detailing, goes beyond mere transportation to propose the value of a refined living space that enriches customers' daily lives and journeys.
The Audi Q9 boasts a bold and confident design befitting the brand's first full-size SUV. The upright body proportions, long silhouette and wide stance emphasise a powerful yet elegant presence, underscoring its status as the flagship model representing Audi's SUV portfolio.
At the front, the iconic Singleframe design has been reinterpreted in a contemporary manner to deliver a striking impression. In addition, distinct design packages such as the Advanced line and S line offer two distinct appeals—elegance and sportiness—reflecting a range of customer tastes. Notably, the rear features the world's first curved digital OLED rear light, symbolically showcasing Audi's innovative lighting technology. The lighting system, seamlessly integrated into the body design, not only provides excellent visibility and safety but also completes a distinctive presence even at night.
Lighting technology is also one of the key features of the Audi Q9. Alongside the world's first curved digital OLED rear light, digital Matrix LED headlights support intuitive communication between the driver and other road users. This enhances both design and safety, demonstrating Audi's technological leadership.
The Audi Q9 also delivers an enhanced digital user experience. An infotainment system centred around the panoramic display, a natural-language voice assistant and AI-based information services provide a more intuitive and convenient in-car experience, while a range of advanced driver assistance systems support safe and confident driving.
As Audi's first full-size SUV and its new flagship model, the Q9 is set to establish itself as an iconic model that presents the brand's vision for future premium mobility, built on space, luxury and technological innovation.
