Mazda MX-5 Roadster Fitted with 'Yokohama Advan V107' as Factory-Fitted Tyres

Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama is to supply its 'ADVAN Sport V107' original equipment (OE) tyre for Mazda's two-seater roadster, the MX-5. The Mazda Roadster is a lightweight two-seater sports car that has seen cumulative production of over 1.26 million units since the launch of the first-generation model in 1989. The current fourth-generation facelifted model is scheduled for release this September, with the supply specification being 195/50R16 84V.

Through this facelift, Mazda is adding a new 'PS' trim specification. Bilstein dampers, Brembo brake calipers and discs, and RAYS 16-inch aluminium wheels are fitted as standard to enhance track and winding-road driving performance. Models equipped with a manual transmission feature improved accelerator pedal response, along with a hill-and-toe assist function that automatically matches engine revs during downshifts. In addition, exhaust note and tyre road-noise reduction designs have been incorporated to meet the latest noise regulation standards.

ADVAN is Yokohama's flagship tyre brand. It is supplied as original equipment for high-performance models from major vehicle manufacturers including Porsche and BMW M. The ADVAN Sport V107 is a summer sports tyre featuring an asymmetric tread pattern, a new compound, and high-rigidity aramid fibre, delivering grip on both dry and wet surfaces while offering the quietness required to comply with noise regulations.

Yokohama has continuously supplied original equipment tyres since the launch of the first-generation Mazda Roadster in 1989 through to the current fourth-generation model. The tyre fitted to the first-generation model at the time was the Yokohama Radial 221 in size 185/60R14 82H.
