Mercedes-Benz готовит к скорому старту продаж обновлённый кемпер Marco Polo

The refreshed camper van from the German marque, which has changed its production location, will arrive on the European market on 5 August 2026, with prices to be announced at a later date.

The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo camper is based on the V-Class. The third-generation passenger van first appeared on the market in 2014, and in the summer of 2019 the line-up was expanded with a fully electric version – the EQV. In March 2026, the German marque unveiled the new electric minivan VLE, announced fuel-powered versions, as well as a luxury variant, the VLS. However, the current updated Marco Polo camper is based on the outgoing Mercedes-Benz V-Class.

As Kolesa.ru reported in February, the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo has changed its production location. Its conversion was previously carried out by specialists from the company Westfalia in the German city of Gotha, but now vans produced in Vitoria (Spain) are being sent for finishing work to the company's facility in another German city – Ludwigsfelde.

The company has fully revealed the refreshed camper. One of the main updates for the Marco Polo is a new electrically operated pop-up roof, which provides a sleeping area in the upper section of the van. The roof features a sturdy yet lightweight aluminium frame with double skinning. This 'tent' remains insulated in virtually all weather conditions. What's more, it now offers an additional 10 cm of headroom – when the rear section is raised to its full height.

This roof section of the 'glamping-mobile' has also been given new LED lighting. Various modes are available for the illumination – from cool to warm tones. In addition, the developers have equipped the new roof with a sliding panel that allows more natural daylight into the cabin and provides a flow of fresh air, while at night it opens up an unobstructed view of the starry sky.

As part of the update, the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo has received a different retractable awning with a revised design: it can now be easily removed temporarily, for example between trips or when visiting a car wash. The model has also been given new magnetic curtains, a different audio system with eight speakers and a subwoofer, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, which allows you to 'play videos even when the infotainment system is switched off'.

The 'travelling van' has received revised pull-out drawers, new fold-down tables and a 'more energy-efficient' (by 25%) 40-litre refrigerator compartment. The Marco Polo also comes with a mini-kitchen featuring two gas hobs and a sink, swivelling front seats and a rear bench that converts into a bed, while the dashboard houses a single display unit with a pair of 12.3-inch screens.

For now, the camper's mechanical specification remains unchanged. The Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo line-up includes three 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engines. The base variant produces 163 hp with a maximum torque of 380 Nm, the mid-range engine delivers 190 hp and 440 Nm, while the top diesel offers 237 hp and 500 Nm. All three are paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox, with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available. The top versions take 8.8 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h.

It is known that sales of the refreshed Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo in Europe will begin on 5 August 2026, with prices to be announced at a later date. The current version starts at €80,664 on the domestic German market (equivalent to approximately 7.2 million roubles at the current exchange rate).

Earlier, the company stated that towards the end of the current decade, Mercedes-Benz campers will move to a new generation and, accordingly, transition to a new platform – VAN.EA / VAN.CA.
