BMW Group Korea provided free use of the BMW Driving Centre on Yeongjong Island, Incheon, along with training motorcycles, to support the motorcycle training of the Capital Defence Command’s Military Police Special Task Force Mobile Company, which took place on the 29th of last month.

This collaboration was carried out to fulfil the company’s social responsibility and realise public interest values by offering the BMW Driving Centre’s specialised facilities as a training venue to enhance the national defence capabilities of a state institution.

A total of 35 elite personnel, including officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers and civilian officials from the Capital Defence Command’s Military Police Special Task Force Mobile Company, took part in the motorcycle training. The battalion commander and relevant staff also visited to observe the training.

The training focused on responding to unexpected situations that may occur on the road and maximising the military’s tactical mobility. The training facilities used included the multi-purpose course and main track at the BMW Driving Centre. This enabled exercises in obstacle avoidance, emergency braking, slope riding, company formation riding and squadron manoeuvres, thereby enhancing the military police’s motorcycle riding skills and organisational mobility.

BMW Group Korea fully opened the driving courses at the BMW Driving Centre and cooperated in creating a smooth training environment, providing a total of ten training motorcycles, including models such as the BMW F 900 GS, BMW R 1300 RT and BMW R 1300 GS Adventure. In addition, time was set aside to share BMW Motorrad’s technical expertise and brand philosophy, while also introducing the capabilities and distinctiveness accumulated in the field of manufacturing motorcycles for official duties.

Meanwhile, BMW Group Korea has continued its collaboration with public institutions, particularly in the area of fire safety. In 2024, the company conducted riding training for paramedics from Incheon-area fire stations at the BMW Driving Centre, and the following year, it provided electric vehicle fire safety training for firefighters in the Incheon area. In May of this year, the training was expanded to include firefighters in the Seoul area, supporting the enhancement of electric vehicle safety response capabilities at fire scenes.

Furthermore, the company has supplied 1,150 vehicle-mounted cool-warm boxes to the National Fire Agency for storing medicines and beverages needed during firefighting and emergency dispatches nationwide, and has extended the period for free replacement of consumables for the BMW X5 donated to the Seoul Metropolitan Fire and Disaster Headquarters indefinitely, among other support activities.
