Star Truck Korea (CEO Dong Geun-tae), the official importer of Mercedes-Benz trucks, announced that it completed training on 26th at the Nohyeong Office of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Road Management Division to enhance the safe driving capabilities of Unimog operators.
This training was organised to support the safe and efficient operation of Mercedes-Benz Unimog vehicles used in public sectors such as snow removal, disaster recovery, and road maintenance. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province currently has a total of 23 Unimog vehicles, and 30 Unimog operators and driving officials attended the training on the day.
The training was conducted as a practical, hands-on course led by the head of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog Icheon Service Centre (MBST), focusing on the skills required for field operations. The main training content included: ▲Unimog vehicle structure and operating principles ▲Operation and function guidance for the new Uni-Touch system ▲Diagnosis of warning messages and code verification ▲Parts repair and maintenance guidelines by warranty period ▲Operation methods for attached equipment such as snowploughs and brush cutters ▲Post-operation equipment maintenance know-how.
In particular, the training focused on the operation of the newly applied Uni-Touch interface and the use of its latest features, in line with European GSR (General Safety Regulation) standards. Participants handled actual vehicles to learn how to apply the advanced functions of the Unimog in practice, strengthening their diagnostic and response capabilities in the field.
Additionally, the training emphasised safe driving methods in special environments such as rough terrain and emergency response procedures, aiming to improve stable vehicle operation and rapid field response capabilities required in disaster situations.
Star Truck Korea plans to continue expanding professional training programmes for public institutions. It also intends to strengthen collaboration between its nationwide service network and customers to support optimal Unimog operation and reinforce its technical leadership in the special truck sector.
