Hankook & Company Group (Chairman Cho Hyun-bum) subsidiary-type standard workplace for people with disabilities, Korea Donggeurami Partners, held a disability awareness improvement experiential activity on the 26th at the Suri Welfare Centre for the Disabled in Anyang City, Gyeonggi Province. Employees experienced the mobility environment from the perspective of people with disabilities, reflecting on the values of understanding and inclusion.

Based on Chairman Cho Hyun-bum's philosophy of mutual growth, this activity focused on going beyond simple education or one-off volunteer work, allowing participants to personally feel the realities faced by people with disabilities and broaden their capacity for empathy and understanding. Around ten employees from Korea Donggeurami Partners took part in the day's event, with new recruits particularly participating, providing an opportunity to cultivate sensitivity towards disabilities from the start of their employment and internalise the value of inclusion as part of the organisational culture.

Participants engaged in activities using assistive devices to aid the mobility of people with disabilities, navigating ramps and public facilities, and exploring their surroundings with restricted vision. Through this, they experienced the mobility and daily life constraints faced by those with limited mobility, enhancing their sensitivity towards disabilities and broadening consensus on the values of respect and consideration.

Established in 2015, Korea Donggeurami Partners is a standard workplace for people with disabilities wholly funded by Hankook Tire & Technology. It has pursued the enhancement of vocational capabilities and the expansion of business areas without limiting the potential of people with disabilities, and has also worked to expand the base of disability sports culture and carry out community-linked volunteer activities. In recognition of these efforts, it has received the Iron Tower Industrial Medal and a Presidential Commendation at the Employment Promotion for the Disabled Conference hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labour, as well as the Prime Minister's Award and the Minister of Health and Welfare Award.

Meanwhile, Hankook & Company Group is practising sustainable management across the environment, society, and governance spectrum, centred on its integrated ESG brand 'DRIVING FORWARD, TOGETHER', launched under Chairman Cho Hyun-bum's ESG philosophy.
