Кроссовер GAC S7, доступный и в России, обновили всего через год после запуска

The hybrid SUV aimed at the domestic market has been given a refreshed appearance. The model has also received an improved suite of driver assistance systems. In addition, the technology has been upgraded.

The plug-in hybrid crossover Trumpchi S7 in its new style was launched on the Chinese market by the GAC group in the spring of last year. And in March of this year, the model reached Russia – simply as the GAC S7 (the Trumpchi brand is only used in China). Back home, however, the SUV has not been a success. According to local media, only 6,980 units were sold in China between January and June 2026. For comparison, the similarly sized Aito M6 sold 10,600 units in June alone. This is presumably why the GAC Trumpchi S7 has already undergone a facelift, and today the refreshed SUV is available to order in China.

The crossover has been given a new face. The GAC Trumpchi S7 now features a different bumper, along with a larger air intake located in its lower section. The 'interactive panel' running beneath the bonnet remains unchanged, but the headlights have been placed in new housings, and they no longer have the additional vertical LED strips.

Blue lighting has been added to the headlights, as well as to the mirror housings and the rear – this indicates that the autopilot is active. Incidentally, the lidar above the windscreen, which is standard on all versions except the base model, is also new – it is now 192-line (previously it was 126-line). Furthermore, across all trims, the driver assistance system now includes 12 ultrasonic radars (previously, the 'basic' trims had 8).

The dimensions of the S7 remain unchanged. Length is 4,900 mm, width is 1,950 mm, height is 1,780 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,880 mm. The crossover comes standard with 19-inch wheels, with 20-inch wheels available as an optional extra.

The five-seat interior is largely the same. It features separate screens for the instrument cluster (8.88 inches) and the multimedia system (15.6 inches), both of which are included as standard. The list of standard equipment also includes two-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats (the driver's seat also has a massage function), and wireless smartphone charging. Higher-end trims also include heated and ventilated rear seats. The overhead tablet (17.3 inches) for passengers is now only available on the top-spec version.

As before, the powertrain of the GAC Trumpchi S7 includes a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 160 hp. The electric motor located on the front axle has been upgraded: its output has increased from 231 hp to 272 hp. The top-of-the-range all-wheel-drive S7 retains a separate 109 hp electric motor on the rear axle.

Across all trims, the crossover is equipped with a new battery – with a capacity of 38.88 kWh, whereas the pre-facelift SUV in China had a 36.3 kWh battery. The electric-only range for front-wheel-drive versions is now 255 km under the CLTC cycle, while the all-wheel-drive crossover achieves 240 km (previously 205 km and 180 km respectively).

Excluding promotions, the updated GAC Trumpchi S7 will cost between 149,800 and 199,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1.7 million to 2.3 million roubles at the current exchange rate. On export markets, the hybrid will likely be updated only next year.
