Leapmotor D99 Launches with Upgraded Specs, a New Game-Changer in the 300,000 Yuan MPV Segment

On June 25, Leapmotor's flagship D-platform first MPV—the Leapmotor D99—was officially launched. The new model offers six configurations, with the extended-range version priced between 249,800 and 309,800 RMB, and the pure electric version priced between 259,800 and 319,800 RMB. Limited-time benefits include up to 61,279 RMB in purchase incentives and four lifetime free warranties. Deliveries will begin on July 20.

This marks Leapmotor's first foray into the MPV segment and the second D-series product following the flagship SUV D19. The D99 fills the gap in Leapmotor's high-end MPV lineup, forming a "flagship SUV + flagship MPV" dual-flagship matrix, signaling Leapmotor's complete coverage from the mass market to the luxury flagship segment.

11 Seat Modes, Maximum Space Flexibility

As a flagship MPV for families and business travel, the Leapmotor D99 measures 5280/1995/1900mm (1880mm with air suspension at lowest setting), with a wheelbase of 3110mm and an interior space efficiency of 91.3%.

The seats adopt a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout. The second row features dual 124° true zero-gravity rotating aviation seats, supporting 45° welcome rotation, 90° sightseeing rotation, and 180° face-to-face meeting mode. It includes 4-way electric leg rests, 10-point full-body massage, 3D wrap-around heating, and dual ventilation. The third-row seats offer heating, electric backrest and headrest adjustment, and can be electrically folded 90° to form a "scenic seat," catering to outdoor activities like fishing, sightseeing, and camping.

Space flexibility is a core selling point. The vehicle supports over 11 seat transformation modes and 5 bed-forming modes. The second and third rows can be combined to form a nearly 2.5-meter flat bed, suitable for overnight camping or family rest. The car features 43 storage compartments. With all seven seats occupied, the trunk volume reaches 706L, accommodating 10 standard suitcases; folding the third row expands capacity to 2890L.

For comfort, the D99 is equipped with 11 pieces of 5mm thick laminated soundproof glass and over 130 acoustic materials for a quiet cabin. The world's first automotive-grade forest oxygen cabin supports an oxygen output of 8L/min, alleviating fatigue and altitude sickness. An 11.4L fully electric automotive-grade refrigerator supports a wide temperature range from -6°C to 50°C. The 23-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system delivers 2304W of power.

Dual Powertrain Layout: Extended-Range and Pure Electric

The Leapmotor D99 offers both extended-range and pure electric powertrains, all equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive as standard.

The extended-range version features an 80.3kWh CATL LFP battery, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 480km, making it the world's longest-range extended-range MPV. It is the industry's first extended-range MPV to adopt CTC battery-chassis integration technology, paired with an 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform, enabling a 30%-80% charge in about 15 minutes.

The pure electric version is equipped with the world's first CATL "molecular-level fusion hybrid battery cell," with a capacity of 115kWh and a CLTC range of 700km. It uses a full-stack 1000V high-voltage architecture, with a peak fast-charging power exceeding 460kW, adding over 350km of range in 15 minutes.

In terms of chassis, the D99 comes standard with front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, paired with dual-chamber closed air suspension and CDC continuously variable damping system. The new car is the industry's first to feature dual Qualcomm 8797 central domain control chips, built on a 4nm process, with a total computing power of 1280 TOPS, creating a cockpit-driving integrated super-coordination architecture, supporting intelligent upgrades for the next five years.

For the intelligent cockpit, the D99 is equipped with an on-device full-modal AI large model and a five-screen 3D spatial interaction system: a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central control screen, a 50-inch AR-HUD, a 6-inch rear control screen, and a 21.4-inch 3K rear entertainment screen. Leapmotor OS supports six-zone independent voice control, 13 dialects mixed speech, and driver-only wake-free vehicle control.

For intelligent driving, it adopts a VLA (Vision-Language-Action) large model, combined with 28 high-precision perception sensors including lidar, covering 44 active driving functions. It enables parking-space-to-parking-space full-scenario navigation assistance, supporting 120-meter path-tracking reverse, full-pose automatic parking, and cross-floor memory parking.
