Images have been released for 'Flesh Impact', a film commemorating the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's birth, supported by the Genesis brand (hereafter Genesis).

To mark the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's birth, Genesis has noted the parallels between Monroe's life - one of striving towards her dreams despite difficult circumstances and creating a timeless influence - and Genesis's own journey of bold challenges to establish itself as a global luxury brand, and has continued to shine a light on her innovative spirit.

To this end, since June, the 'Manifesting Marilyn' exhibition has been running at Genesis House in New York, curated to ensure audiences fully experience the true essence of Marilyn Monroe.

Through its support of the production of 'Flesh Impact', Genesis aims to present yet another new facet of Marilyn Monroe to audiences.

The film's title, 'Flesh Impact', is derived from an expression emphasising Marilyn Monroe's extraordinary aura and presence, and carries the meaning of offering audiences a vivid experience akin to meeting Marilyn Monroe in person, beyond the screen.

The film portrays Monroe as a figure who broke down boundaries and transcended limits, through close collaboration with Authentic Brands Group, the owner and manager of the Marilyn Monroe estate.

Actor and director Maggie Gyllenhaal takes the helm, with Hollywood A-lister Dakota Johnson portraying Monroe in her youthful prime at the height of her fame, and Academy Award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn playing the unseen older Monroe. Emmy-nominated actors Peter Sarsgaard and Sepideh Moafi, among other renowned performers, also feature in the cast.

Director Maggie Gyllenhaal said, "When Genesis first proposed the project to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's birth, I felt I wanted to bring this idea to life together," adding, "This film is a reinterpretation of the Marilyn Monroe we remember and love from a contemporary perspective, and I sought to cast new light on her narrative."

Amy Marentic, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Genesis Motors North America, stated, "Genesis believes that art can create meaningful connections between people," and added, "Our support for this film commemorating the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's birth demonstrates Genesis's commitment to honouring a cultural icon whose influence transcends generations."

Meanwhile, 'Flesh Impact' is set to premiere at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival, to be held this September.
