Hyundai Motor and Kia launch a 'Cybersecurity Working Group' within the South Korea-US-Japan economic dialogue

Hyundai Motor and Kia announced on Wednesday (24th) that they have established a cybersecurity working group within the 'Trilateral Executive Dialogue (TED)' and held its first seminar at Hyundai Motor Group's headquarters (Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu).

TED is a policy seminar where key leaders from the political and business sectors of South Korea, the United States, and Japan come together to identify diverse opportunities for democracy and shared prosperity, and to engage in in-depth discussions on comprehensive measures to expand mutual interests, including economic development and national security.

Hyundai Motor and Kia led the formation of the 'Cybersecurity Working Group', a small group focused on security, targeting TED member companies. This marks the first time a small group has been formed within TED based on a specific topic.

As the boundaries between virtual and physical spaces have become increasingly blurred, cyber attacks are occurring more frequently and with greater complexity. Moreover, with the widespread adoption of AI and IoT, the potential for damage to spread among companies connected through supply chains has also grown.

Against this backdrop, Hyundai Motor and Kia have formed a small group among TED member companies, which represent various countries and industries, with the aim of regularly sharing security trends, operational experiences, and best practices to enable a joint response to global cyber threats.

As part of this initiative, Hyundai Motor and Kia held their first seminar on the theme of 'Security Response Strategies in the AI Era'.

The seminar was attended by participating companies of the working group and professors from renowned domestic universities, who shared the latest cybersecurity trends and strategic cases, and held expert discussions on security in the AI era.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor and Kia have been supporting TED in various ways since 2023, with the aim of strengthening the strategic partnership between South Korea, the United States, and Japan, while also creating a future-oriented new relationship.
