Кроссовер GAC GS4 нового поколения предложен сразу со скидками

GAC has launched sales of its new GS4 crossover in its home market. The model is not a fully original development – it is based on the Aion i60.

Announced as the new, fifth-generation Trumpchi GS4 crossover (the Trumpchi brand is used only in China), the GAC concern unveiled it at home in June. Now the trim levels and prices have been revealed there, and sales have been given the green light.

GAC Trumpchi GS4 Plus, то есть кроссовер третьего поколения

GAC Trumpchi GS4 Max, то есть четвертая генерация. Именно этот кроссовер сегодня продают в России — просто как GAC GS4

For the record, the first-generation model made its debut in 2015, and the "second" crossover was presented in 2019. The other crossovers with the GS4 index are variants of other GAC vehicles. The larger Trumpchi GS5 was positioned as the "third" crossover – it was demoted to the GS4 Plus suffix in 2021. The "fourth" SUV with the "Max" surname became the GAC Trumpchi Emkoo in 2024. And it was the Max that reached Russia last year, but simply as the GAC GS4.

The "fifth" crossover is not an original development either. The basis for this Trumpchi GS4 is the Aion i60 (Aion is another GAC sub-brand). The latter model, in turn, is related to the Aion V (this SUV is also available in Russia) and the Toyota bZ3X.

The new GS4 has inherited the body, lighting and semi-concealed door handles from the Aion i60. The front bumper of the "fifth" crossover is original. In addition, the radiator grille sits in the usual place, whereas the donor crossover has a smooth "nose".

The new Trumpchi GS4 measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,660 or 1,675 mm in height depending on the version, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the Aion i60 are 4,685/1,854/1,660 mm, with an axle distance of 2,775 mm. The dimensions of the GAC Trumpchi GS4 Max, i.e. the previous-generation crossover, are 4,685/1,901/1,690 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The cheapest new crossover rides on 17-inch wheels, while the other trim levels get 18-inch items.

Inside, the GS4 has also largely replicated the Aion i60. The cabin features separate screens for the instrument cluster (8.88 inches) and the multimedia system (15.6 inches), a two-spoke steering wheel and a two-tier central tunnel. The multimedia system is based on artificial intelligence. Gear selection is handled by a steering-column stalk.

The donor Aion i60 is available as a hybrid or an electric car. The new GAC Trumpchi GS4, however, is offered exclusively in "traditional" form with the hardware from its domestic predecessor. That means a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 177 bhp, a seven-speed dual-clutch automated gearbox and front-wheel drive only (in Russia, the current model has an all-wheel-drive version with a 2.0-litre turbo engine).

Chinese buyers are currently offered the new GS4 in three trim levels. The base version includes the aforementioned displays, climate control, a reversing camera and cruise control. The "mid" version adds surround-view cameras. The top-spec Trumpchi GS4 features a panoramic roof, wireless smartphone charging, heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping systems.

The new-generation GAC Trumpchi GS4 crossover is priced at 87,800 – 100,800 yuan, equivalent to roughly 1.01 million – 1.17 million roubles at the current exchange rate. Early buyers, however, are eligible for discounts, bringing the price down to 79,800 – 90,800 yuan (924,000 – 1.05 million roubles). GAC has not yet announced when the export GS4 will switch to the new generation.
