Zeekr 9X flagship crossover: now also available in a two-row version

Pre-orders have already been announced in China for the five-seat version of the full-size SUV, with "live" sales starting in a couple of weeks.

The Zeekr brand, part of the Chinese Geely holding company, first appeared in 2021. As a reminder, the company originally planned to sell only electric vehicles under this name, but later decided to add plug-in hybrids to the line-up. The flagship full-size crossover Zeekr 9X hit the Chinese market in autumn 2025, but at that time the model was only offered with a three-row cabin. Now a new two-row version is ready.

The original version of the Zeekr 9X had a 2+2+2 layout, with two captain's chairs in the second row and individual seats in the third. The new variant, by contrast, has the conventional arrangement with driver and front passenger seats, plus a three-seat rear bench. The dimensions of both versions are identical: length is 5,239 mm, width is 2,029 mm, height is 1,819 mm, and the wheelbase is 3,169 mm.

The exterior of the six- and five-seat versions of the Zeekr 9X is identical: the same classic premium SUV styling, a huge radiator grille, distinctive LED headlights, and a full-width light bar with two slim illuminated strips, between which the brand name is displayed in the centre.

The five-seat Zeekr 9X is equipped with the Qianli Haohan driver assistance suite, which includes 43 high-precision sensors, including a lidar integrated into the roof edge above the windscreen. Inside the cabin, apart from the seats, there are essentially no changes. The dashboard features a 13-inch oval digital instrument cluster and a display combining two 16-inch screens for the Zeekr AI OS 7 infotainment system. In addition, there is a 47-inch augmented reality head-up display.

The crossover comes with a Naim sound system featuring 32 speakers (four of which are mounted in the roof and eight in the headrests). The seats are upholstered in genuine leather, with wood trim used for decoration, and the headliner is finished in suede. The rear bench seat cushions are over 53 cm wide, and the second row offers massage functionality in various modes. The cabin also includes a 9-litre compartment that can maintain a set temperature ranging from -6°C to +50°C.

The "guts" of the new version of the crossover, which is based on the SEA-S platform with a 900-volt electrical architecture, are standard. As Kolesa.ru previously reported, the hybrid system of the Zeekr 9X can operate in both series and parallel modes. This means that the 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine producing 279 hp, mounted up front under the bonnet, can drive the front wheels via a single-speed reduction gearbox, or it can operate as a generator for the traction battery.

The entry-level versions of the full-size crossover have two electric motors (one on the front axle, the second on the rear), while the top-spec versions feature a system with three electric motors (two of them on the rear axle). In the first case, the maximum combined output is 897 hp with 935 Nm of torque; in the second, it is 1,400 hp and 1,410 Nm. The traction battery capacity is either 55 or 70 kWh. The three-motor Zeekr 9X accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h.

As of today, pre-orders have already been announced in China for the five-seat version of the Zeekr 9X, and "live" sales of the new version will begin at the end of July 2026. Prices will be announced at a later date.
