BYD to participate in 2026 Busan Mobility Show... showcasing hybrid technology DM-i
BYD Korea has announced that it will participate in the '2026 Busan Mobility Show', held at BEXCO in Busan from the 26th of this month to 5th July, and will introduce its eco-friendly DM-i (Dual Mode-intelligent) technology to domestic consumers.
BYD Korea recently achieved cumulative sales of 10,000 units in the shortest period for an imported car brand, confirming domestic consumers' interest in and trust in eco-friendly mobility. In response to this support and to expand its engagement with Korean customers, BYD has decided to participate in the 2026 Busan Mobility Show this year, following its appearance at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show last year.
The concept that BYD Korea will present at this mobility show is 'The Power of Duality'. This message symbolises BYD's technological philosophy and innovative capabilities, which create possibilities and value through the combination of two different elements, and the exhibition as a whole reflects the brand vision and future mobility direction that BYD aims for in the Korean market.
Through this exhibition, BYD Korea plans to showcase its brand competitiveness based on innovative technology and its efforts to meet the expectations of domestic consumers. It also intends to highlight the achievements of its commercial division, which marks its 10th anniversary in Korea, and its growing passenger vehicle division, while presenting the possibilities of eco-friendly mobility through BYD's core DM technology.
BYD's unique hybrid technology, DM, is a system that integrates the technological identity and electrification capabilities of a brand that started as a battery company. DM has been refined over 18 years since BYD launched its mass-produced plug-in hybrid model in 2008, and its competitiveness has been proven through sales of over 8 million units worldwide.
Among these, DM-i, based on the philosophy of an 'Electric-First Hybrid', achieves high energy efficiency by organically combining the engine, motor, and BYD's own battery technology. In particular, it features the EHS (Electric Hybrid System), which delivers power through the organic operation of the electric motor and engine without a physical transmission, highlighting efficiency through structural simplification and a driving feel free from gearshift shocks.
