Hyundai collaborates with Epic Games to expand into 'FIFA World Cup 2026™' campaign game
Hyundai Motor, as the official mobility partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ (hereinafter referred to as the 2026 World Cup), is extending the excitement of the World Cup into the gaming world, offering customers a brand experience.
On Wednesday (10th), Hyundai announced that it has collaborated with global game developer Epic Games to engage football fans and gamers worldwide through World Cup-themed in-game events in the popular titles Rocket League and Fortnite.
Having sponsored the FIFA World Cup for approximately 27 years since 1999, Hyundai plans to leverage this collaboration to provide the public with a new form of brand experience, created through the synergy of three distinct domains: mobility, sports, and gaming.
In partnership with Epic Games, from Thursday, 11th June to Sunday, 19th July, Hyundai will introduce the 'IONIQ 6 N Line' vehicle item and exclusive World Cup sponsorship decals[2] in Rocket League, a football game played with cars. During this period, gamers can select one of the 48 countries that have qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals and participate as a national representative. Goals scored during matches will accumulate points for the chosen country, and the nation with the highest total score at the end will be declared the winner.
Additionally, during the event period, players who complete 10 quests can earn the IONIQ 6 N Line vehicle item. Driving over 8,000 metres in this vehicle will reward them with Hyundai's exclusive World Cup sponsorship decal.
Furthermore, Hyundai is rolling out activities as part of its 2026 World Cup campaign, 'Next Starts Now', which originates from its brand vision, 'Progress for Humanity'.
Hyundai will engage with global gaming fans by hosting the 'Next Starts Now Cup, presented by Hyundai', a tournament featuring only the IONIQ 6 N Line vehicle, in collaboration with Rocket League influencers and professional gamers.
The tournament matches will be streamed live on the personal channels of the participating influencers. Through this, Hyundai aims to allow users to experience the Hyundai brand, whether by playing or watching the games.
In addition, from Thursday, 25th June to Sunday, 19th July, Hyundai will run weekly missions in Fortnite, Epic Games' flagship battle royale title. Gamers who complete these missions can obtain the IONIQ 6 N Line vehicle item—usable as a key mode of in-game transport—along with the exclusive World Cup sponsorship decal.
Through these initiatives, Hyundai plans to engage with gamers of all ages and expand its touchpoints with future potential customers via gaming marketing.
Hyundai and Epic Games are also extending their collaboration beyond the online world into offline spaces.
Hyundai plans to operate World Cup-themed exhibitions at all Hyundai Motorstudio locations. Additionally, dedicated gaming experience zones will be set up in Goyang and Busan, allowing visitors to experience the in-game IONIQ 6 N Line.
