Shelby American has unveiled a road-going sports pickup truck, the Shelby F-150 Super Snake SuperCrew: it is equipped with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 821 bhp, a lowered suspension, and a striking aerodynamic body kit.

Shelby’s engineers have long been masters of building off-road ‘performance’ pickups based on the Ford F-150, but the US is now seeing a resurgence in demand for powerful street-oriented pickups with lowered suspension and sharp handling. Shelby’s customers wanted such a truck too, and here it is — the Shelby F-150 Super Snake SuperCrew was unveiled this week.

The Shelby F-150 Super Snake SuperCrew is based on a standard Ford F-150 in Lariat trim, with a SuperCrew double cab, all-wheel drive, and a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 405 bhp. Shelby has fitted a supercharger to the engine, along with a new intake manifold with an intercooler and a distinctive new Borla Performance exhaust system. As a result, power has risen to 821 bhp. The gearbox remains standard — a 10-speed hydromechanical automatic.

The suspension has been lowered using new adjustable King shock absorbers, and a stiffer anti-roll bar has been fitted to the rear axle. The standard disc brakes have been replaced with more powerful Baer perforated discs featuring red callipers adorned with Shelby branding. The 22-inch Shelby alloy wheels are shod in Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 performance tyres.

Alongside the wheels, the exterior upgrades include a new front bumper with a prominent splitter at the bottom, a new Shelby grille with integrated running lights, a new bonnet with ventilation slots, vented panels on the front wings, wheel arch extensions and side skirts, a tonneau cover with a rear spoiler, and decorative vinyl wrapping.

The interior of the Shelby F-150 Super Snake SuperCrew boasts new leather seat covers with Shelby logos, decorative carbon fibre inserts, and aluminium pedals. New Shelby floor mats have been fitted, and a serial number plaque serves as a reminder of the muscle truck’s origins.

Shelby American will build only 400 examples of the 2026 model year F-150 Super Snake SuperCrew. The price starts at $140,795. Its main market rival will be the factory-built road-going muscle truck, the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT with 788 bhp, but that model will not go on sale until next year.
