Cash Mahesh, Executive Vice President of Tenneco and President of the Performance Solutions division, stated: "China is the world's largest and fastest-growing new energy vehicle market, and the core engine driving the future development of the automotive industry. Our investment in the new production line at the Suzhou plant underscores the company's long-term and steadfast commitment to the Chinese market. Leveraging leading electronically controlled damping technology, Tenneco is dedicated to helping Chinese automakers create products with greater global competitiveness."

The new production line will manufacture Monroe® FAS (Full Active Suspension) shock absorbers. The FAS actuator, primarily developed by Tenneco's China team, integrates global technical resources and expertise and will prioritize serving the Chinese market. This technology delivers millisecond-level intelligent responses to complex road conditions, providing robust lifting and pressing active forces, enabling independent wheel-end decoupling, actively suppressing body roll and pitch, and fully absorbing road bumps, thereby offering users a more comfortable and safer driving experience.

Li Xiang, President of Tenneco Asia Pacific, said: "This new production line at the Suzhou plant further enhances our capability to develop, manufacture, and deliver high-end electronically controlled shock absorbers in China. Facing the continuous innovation of Chinese automakers, and with a fully empowered local team, we can respond more quickly to OEMs' requirements regarding product performance, development cycles, and production timelines, supporting customers in accelerating the launch of new models to market."

As China's new energy vehicles continue to upgrade towards high performance and intelligence, active suspension is gradually becoming a key feature in high-end models. The fully active shock absorbers produced at the Suzhou plant are expected to enter mass production in the fourth quarter. They have already secured orders from two customers, and collaborations with several others are underway.

The new production line features automated, flexible, and intelligent manufacturing processes, with key production data enabling precise real-time traceability to ensure consistently high-quality standards.

As a leading global provider of ride solutions, Monroe® has established a comprehensive layout covering R&D and manufacturing in China, including an R&D center in Beijing and two major production bases in Changzhou and Suzhou, offering a full range of solutions from passive and semi-active to fully active shock absorbers.
