New version of Tenet T8 crossover with five-seat cabin unveiled, price revealed

The recommended retail price of the new version of the flagship SUV from the young Russian brand is 3,299,000 roubles.

The brand, named Tenet, appeared on the Russian automotive market in February 2025, and this project is one of the results of the partnership between the Russian holding company "AGR" and the Chinese company Defetoo. It is worth recalling that production of cars under the Tenet brand has been established at the plant located near Kaluga, which was previously owned by the Volkswagen Group. The brand's flagship crossover is the T8, which was initially offered in Russia only with a three-row cabin layout.

Sales of the Tenet T8 started on the Russian market in autumn 2025, and the five-seat version joined the family at the beginning of this month. Initially, the new modification was offered in only one trim level – Active, but now a Prime variant has been added. It is known that cars in the richer specification have already reached the brand's dealers.

As reported by the Tenet press office, the expanded set of options for the new version of the flagship five-seat SUV was developed "taking into account feedback from owners and potential customers." As a result, this model has been equipped with a powered tailgate with hands-free opening function, a panoramic roof with a sunroof and blind, ambient interior lighting, as well as illuminated vanity mirrors.

The two-row Tenet T8 in the Prime version features: 18-inch alloy wheels, "acoustic" front windows, dual-zone climate control, a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an infotainment system with a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an eight-speaker audio system, a 540° surround-view camera system, six airbags, keyless entry and push-button engine start.

The company noted that, at customers' request, they have expanded the set of themes for the digital instrument cluster: a classic theme with round speedometer and tachometer dials has been added to the two previously available designs. In addition, the five-seat crossover has received a voice assistant that can be activated either via a button on the steering wheel or by the command "Hello, Tenet." It can help, for example, with changing climate control settings, switching on seat heating, opening/closing windows, adjusting music volume, etc.

The Tenet T8 is equipped with a telematics system that allows owners, via a mobile app, to remotely start the engine, activate heating, adjust the climate system, locate the car in a car park using geolocation, as well as monitor tyre pressure, mileage, average fuel consumption and driving range.

Under the bonnet of the new Tenet T8 version sits a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 186 hp and a maximum torque of 275 Nm. This engine can run on Ai-92 petrol. It is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with dual wet clutches, and drive is to the front wheels. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle for the new model is 7.7 litres per 100 km.

The recommended retail price of the five-seat Tenet T8 crossover in the new Prime trim is 3,299,000 roubles (the price is quoted excluding current promotions). For comparison, the base version can be purchased for 3,099,000 roubles, while the top-of-the-range seven-seat version costs at least 3,885,000 roubles.
