«Moscow Mile 2026» complete: rain changed the rules, but did not take away the emotion

Moscow Region, RDRC Racepark – The second day of the "Moscow Mile 2026" speed festival delivered a fresh surprise to participants and spectators alike, one that reshaped the sporting narrative.
On Sunday morning, the track was still in good condition, and drivers made full use of the final hours of qualifying to improve their times. However, at the start of the afternoon, the heavens once again unleashed heavy rain upon the circuit, and the air temperature plummeted sharply. The drag strip surface became slippery, putting the safe running of the final paired elimination runs at risk.

Following consultations with the stewards and organisers, a difficult but ultimately correct decision was reached: the final elimination bracket runs were cancelled, with winners and podium finishers determined by the qualifying sessions held on Saturday and the first half of Sunday.
As a result, "Moscow Mile 2026" became the fastest and shortest round in the project's history – yet no less spectacular or memorable for it.

LIVE VOICES FROM THE FESTIVAL
We asked participants to share their emotions – and here is what they had to say:

WEATHER DID NOT DAMPEN THE CELEBRATION
Despite the rain, the grandstands and exhibition area remained busy with spectators who had come to the festival with their families. For them, the following continued to operate:
- guided bus tours of the circuit;
- racing simulator competitions;
- a strength tournament;
- a children's zone and food courts.
Particular delight was sparked by the car display, which featured the Lamborghini Diablo, Acura NSX and the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300SL, alongside imposing pick-up trucks and rapid sports cars.

AWARDS CEREMONY
At 16:30, the awards ceremony for the winners and podium finishers took place, with participants receiving well-deserved trophies, medals and cash vouchers from the prize fund. The total value of prizes awarded exceeded 2 million roubles.

IN LIEU OF A CONCLUSION
"Moscow Mile 2026" will be remembered for its dramatic battle with the weather, a record number of participants and an incredible atmosphere. We thank all drivers, teams, volunteers and spectators for making this weekend unforgettable.
